How to: Set the location on n0tice.com

In this tutorial we look at a very important aspect of n0tice.com, setting the location so that you can start  discovering what’s happening near you.

First, we need to log-in.

Or, if this is the first time you’ve visited, you’ll need to signup first. You can log in with your Facebook or Twitter accounts, or by creating a user name for your email address.

Once you’re logged in, the very first thing to do is to select your location.

In the screen which pops up, you’ll see a button saying ‘get started’. Please click on that blue button.

You’ll see some friendly faces in the next screen!

We’ll come back to them in just a second but for now, we’re looking at the top left hand corner of the screen where it says, focus on location.

Clicking there reveals a dropdown with two options – a blue button offering your current location or a search box.

Try the current location first.

Clicking the blue button will prompt your browser to ask for permission to access your location. You will need to click ‘allow’ for that to happen. btw, If you want to find out more about how n0tice uses your data, you’ll find details in the privacy policy.

You should now see your current location set in the top left hand corner of the screen.

If that’s not the location you want to focus on, you can change it to anywhere else you are interested in by clicking on the location and then typing the address into the search box.

Once it’s showing in the blue box, click to set that as your new location.

Now you are logged in and have set your location you can start posting and joining up with other people near you – we’ll look at that in other tutorials.

There is also a video tutorial for this here.
