A 24 hour marathon hack overnight in the splendor of Leeds City Museum has forged this – an android app for n0tice users which allows users to browse and map noticings on the move.

xplorericonsIt’s the hard work of Duncan Scobie and Alasdair Yeo of Tyrell Mobile who took our challenge to create something exciting from the n0tice api at the weekend’s Leeds Hack event.

They explain what motivated them to work through a sleepless night to create this prototype in this short audioboo interview.

There’s more details and you can download the unofficial n0tice xplorer app on Google play here

And they weren’t the only developers who took the challenge – Matt Longworth, John Harrison and Jonathan Powell created an app which uses SMS with n0tice to prompt the user a series of questions to reveal more about the news report being posted.

Overall winners of the day went to the Breeze mobile app which will text out events for under 18s. The team was largely made up of under 18s who only learned php on Monday.

There’s a selection of notes, pictures, links and more about the event on n0tice here.
