Guardian Travel this morning launched an EasterWeekend noticeboard for readers to find and share the best events happening during the holiday break.
If you’re out and about over the Easter Weekend, one of the newest noticeboards at n0tice.com is there to provide some inspiration to help you find out what’s happening near you – www.easterweekend.n0tice.com.
It uses the n0tice.com events functionality and has been personalised using the official Guardian logo, branding and background.
The Travel website this morning offers it readers the chance to share tips and also picks out some of the trips and events already featured on the www.easterweekend.n0tice.com board.
The resulting tips are automatically fed back into the page on the Travel website which has been re-styled into the usual Guardian page style as you can see in the image on the left.
Whatever you do this weekend, we wish all our n0tice-ers a Happy Easter!

For our first featured n0tice-er in 2012 we caught up with the globetrotting photographer and writer Kathryn Louise Geels aka girLondon
Tell us a little about yourself, what you do, your passions and interests.
I originate from Australia but I’ve called London home for 10 years and have an absolute love for the city. I believe we were born with legs for a reason and to not discover our surroundings – on our own door step and beyond – is a sin. My home is where my heart is and because I’ve fallen in love with so many places around the world I guess you could say I’m a global romantic?
I’m a creative writer and photographer with a commitment to travel, street, documentary and alternative photography. I have traveled extensively for the past ten years, survived the likes of India not once but three times and have penned my way through this remarkable place called earth. Oh and did i mention I ‘host’ travel experiences in London?
Why did you set up girLondon and who is involved?
I admit I’m a bit of a social media geek and tend to be an ‘all or nothing’ kind of person. When i see an opportunity, a challenge or a potential next big thing I tend to jump on the bandwagon early and grab it with both hands. My n0tice board involves me and me only at this early stage. I think ‘team girlondon’ is a LONG way off!
Tell us where it is and the three best things about your chosen location.
It’s in the name I guess - girlondon n0tice board started with postings from London, and now from Australia for 6 months while i undertake a post-graduate. Wherever I travel my writing, photography and social media will come with me but London is most definitely home and longterm ‘default location’. With that, the three best things about London: 1) It’s the most eclectic city in the world – so in effect you have the world on your doorstep 2) You’re never short of places to go, people to see, things to do – in fact there is so much going on in London that i never get around to doing it all 3) It’s a city that is constantly evolving – no matter how much history it’s steeped in, London is forever fascinating me with what he has to offer. (I know cities are usually deemed as ‘feminine’ but i definitely think London is male)! And as a wild card number 4) the public transport. I know we all moan about it but when you’re without it, it really does make you appreciate the immense underground network and plethora of buses.
What do hope to achieve with the noticeboard?
I see my n0tice board as being an observation platform. Not particularly bias, rather a way for me to share my observations about my surroundings with others and encourage people to view their own community or one further afield with new eyes. Kind of like traveling somewhere for the first time – it’s all new, exciting and challenges preconceived ideas.
